Plutôt que de s'enfermer dans un genre particulier, Spank Me More aspire à proposer des groupes de qualité issus de scènes indépendantes variées offrant ainsi à ses musiciens des lieux de liberté pour l'expérimentation et à son public des occasions répétées de découverte musicale. Het Brusselse label Spank Me More Records is in de Botanique te gast om er zijn eerste verjaardag te vieren! U staat een rijkelijk gevulde en eclectische line-up te wachten, die de grondgedachte van dit label helemaal weergeeft. Spank Me More laat zich liever niet opsluiten in een bepaald genre, maar heeft de ambitie kwaliteitsgroepen voor te stellen, uit verschillende hoeken van de "indy" scene. Op die manier wil het zijn muzikanten een vrijplaats voor experiment bieden en zijn publiek telkens verrassende muzikale ontdekkingen laten doen. Bovendien stelt Le Double die avond zijn eerste album voor, "Songs for maggots".

Le Botanique will host a Spank Me More Records label night to celebrate the first year of existence of the label! Spank Me More will present a strong and eclectic line-up, in line with its founding philosophy. Rather than limiting itself to a single style, Spank Me More intends to present quality bands coming from varied independent scenes. The label offers its musicians places for experimentation and offers its audience opportunities for musical discovery. That night Le Double will presents his debut album "Songs for maggots" !

Le Double (folk)
The music of Le Double is the result of song writing in search of simple but gripping melodies. The songs begin all with an acoustic guitar and a voice, drawing its inspiration from wonders like the vast stretches of the ocean or the disorder in le Double’s own bedroom. While preserving the simplicity and sobriety of the songs, arrangements and additional instruments like bass, drums, electric guitars, keyboards, banjo, glockenspiel or percussion enrich the tunes. The result is beautiful folk ballads with a post-rock color and served with this fragile and particular voice. First cd presentation at Botanique !
Casse Brique ... (math rock)
Rock instrumental duo started in 2007. A Drum Kit, A guitar, sometime a bass, the band play a powerfull melodic math rock. New band on the label ! Get blasted !
InnerMountain ... (ambient audiovisual)
InnerMountain is an ambient piece of music created and played for chinese painter Xu Longsen exhibition "on a top of a thousand mountains" (Europalia China 2009) official opening. Made of reprocessed samples from berliner pianist Nils Frahm and fields recordings, the electronic composition by Pierre de Mûelenaere is sublimated with the voice and violin of Aurore Picavet and Pierre Pevée's turntables ; while original live painting visual by Flora Hubot is screened on stage. Main inspiration of this audiovisual creation comes from the work of Xu Longsen : oversized mountains painted with ink on white paper; as questionning relations between the full and the empty, one of the points of oriental philosophy called "Tao".
iCu ... (emo bass)
bass music that is almost "visual". Influenced by repetitive and minimalist music and produced exclusively on his basses, iCu’s music explores new sensational worlds by juggling with textures, sounds, riffs and melodies to paint overlapping parts, electronic scansions and impressionist colours. Music in progress evolving to find new ways of expression.in 2009, iCu released his first album “useLess” on Spank Me More Records and played for Tortoise as support act (Stuk).
